Last week we hit our first big milestone with Pedigree’s ‘We’re For Dogs’ Facebook community. We reached 100,000 fans!
Since launching the group in May 2010, we’ve enjoyed two years of dog-loving discussions, videos, photos, apps and competitions, steadily growing an active community of dog owners online. They’ve also played a key role in a number of Pedigree’s campaigns, such as last year’s adoption drive. Thanks to their help we were able to spread the news of our virtual dog walk for charity to millions of people.
To mark hitting 100,000 we simply asked the community how they’d like Pedigree to celebrate. Many people asked for treats to be given away to abandoned dogs, so that’s what we’re doing! Giving 100,000 dog treats away to a selection of UK dog shelters. Four of which were involved in the 2011 Pedigree Adoption Drive, and the others were suggested by members of the Facebook community.
Treats are going out soon, and we’ll be filming our visits to the shelters so keep an eye on the page.
